Insert assembly: check orientation before adhesive

Short answer. Read the instructions for the exact insert revision, identify the pieces, and dry-fit where instructed. Check tray placement before making an irreversible assembly change.

Confirm the instructions match

Match the product code and revision on the packaging with the instruction sheet. Check for updated files from the supplier. Separate similar pieces and identify any orientation markings. An instruction for another insert made from the same material is not a safe substitute.

Dry-fit the intended parts

Follow the supplier’s directions about trial assembly and adhesive. Folded Space’s FS-BRASS instructions call for dry assembly before using ordinary PVA glue. That direction belongs to that product; do not apply the same adhesive automatically to another material or insert. Check that joints and compartments match the drawing without forcing them.

Inspect tray orientation in the box

Before final assembly where the instructions permit it, verify the intended layout and the positions of card trays, boards, and rulebooks. A tray rotated incorrectly can mimic a size problem. Keep the component inventory nearby so each compartment’s purpose is understood.

Use the supplier’s adhesive and curing instructions

Follow the exact product instructions and adhesive label, including handling and cure time. Protect the game and work surface from adhesive. Do not invent a universal drying time or suggest household substitutes when the instructions are missing. Ask the supplier for clarification before an irreversible step.

Check the result without modifying the box

After the specified cure, inspect the assembled trays and pack the supported configuration. Record any misaligned part or closure problem. Contact the supplier before cutting, sanding, regluing, or otherwise repairing a product when the correct procedure is unclear. A repair guide needs material-specific documentation and testing.
