Short answer. Compare the packed box with the main compartment and the opening. Volume or a claimed number of games cannot establish fit for your collection.
Name the model and the measurement
Record the bag model, revision, and source date. Check whether a quoted dimension is internal, external, or an approximate usable-space measurement. The manufacturer’s Game Canopy page distinguishes internal dimensions for different models; its legacy page is not evidence of current availability or a test by BoardFit Atlas.
Measure the packed box envelope
Use outside dimensions with any lid lift, protective cover, and corner padding included. If you intend to carry more than one box, draw a layout for the complete load. A sum of volumes cannot determine whether the shapes can be arranged without interference.
Check access through the opening
Inspect the zipper opening, rounded corners, straps, and fixed dividers. If possible, test entry with the bag empty before adding other items. Do not force a rigid box through a tight opening. Ask for opening dimensions or a supplier demonstration if that constraint is missing from the listing.
Include padding and small items
Account for the space used by padding, accessories, snacks, and any separate expansion containers. Keep liquids away from game boxes. Decide where reference sheets and small bags will live so they do not disappear beneath a stack. Leave clearance to close the bag normally.
Record the uncertainty
State whether the layout is measured, supplier-reported, or only proposed. A successful geometric fit does not establish waterproofing, impact protection, zipper durability, or safe carrying weight. Those are separate properties that require product documentation or controlled tests.
Decision record
| Number in a listing | What it cannot establish |
|---|---|
| External size | Usable inside compartment |
| Internal size | Opening clearance and padding layout |
| Liters of volume | Arrangement of rigid boxes |
| Number of games | Fit for nonstandard box sizes |
| Your measured layout | Transport durability |
