Label consolidated expansions and keep a box inventory

Short answer. Record what each physical box contains and where any excluded items live. Use plain-text labels that identify the game, edition, expansion, and component group.

Use one record per physical box

Assign a box identifier and shelf location. List the base game, expansions, sleeves, insert, and external containers. If components from one expansion are split between boxes, write both locations. The box inventory tool exports your own records as CSV; it does not download a prefilled game database.

Keep labels readable and reversible

Use a short game name, expansion or module name, component group, and box identifier. Add edition or language where it prevents confusion. Print labels on ordinary paper and place them inside a suitable container or a holder instead of adhering them directly to original artwork. Check that the label remains readable in the chosen shelf orientation.

Record removed and shared components

Some expansions replace base components or use pieces shared across modules. Keep the removed items separately and record their location. Do not describe a game as complete solely because its current play configuration works. The inventory is also useful when lending, selling, or returning a borrowed copy.

Update after each material change

Change the record when an expansion, sleeve line, or insert revision changes the packing plan. Preserve a date and a brief note of the change. Use the label generator to produce matching text labels. Neither tool needs a login or uploads your collection; export the file if you want a saved copy.

Check against the publisher’s list

Use the component list for the exact edition to audit completeness. The template does not provide official counts. Write source and date when a count comes from documentation. If a component is uncertain, record it as unresolved and verify with the publisher rather than inventing a replacement name or number.
